Alla hjärtans dag | Vad gör du med din dejt: Flush, Wipe eller Keep?

Valentine's Day | What do you do with your date: Flush, Wipe, or Keep?

Valentine's Day + situationship = perfect time to clear out the BS. Should you flush, wipe or keep it? Let's do a little love-life toilet analysis.

Flush it, wipe it or keep it?

Imagine your situationship is like a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom:

  • Flush it – when the person is like old, wet paper that falls apart in your hand when you need it most. Your date stresses you out more than when you panic-visit the toilet and realize there's no paper left.

  • Wipe it – when there's a bit of friction, but still usable if you adjust the angle and have a chat. Like wiping with toilet paper in a public restroom. It does the job, but your butt isn't entirely happy.

  • Keeper – a real premium roll: soft, reliable, always there when you need it, and maybe even good-looking, like it could be an interior design detail in your life.

Valentine's Day isn't just about roses and overpriced three-course dinners; it's also the perfect reality check: should this person really get more time in your life, or is it time to hit the flush button and move on?

When to FLUSH IT 🚽

Here we're talking "empty and move on". Red flag party, zero shame.

  1. Valentine's Day = ghost day
You've been dating for months, but as soon as February 14th approaches, the person becomes "super busy", "a bit off" or completely silent in the chat. Classic: reappears on the 16th as if nothing happened. Flush.

  2. You're "a secret"
You hang out, sleep over, maybe even have toothbrushes at each other's places – but you're never seen on social media, never among friends, and definitely not in any future plans. You're more like their incognito tab than a future life partner. Flush.

  3. Consistently low effort
You plan, you reach out, you suggest, you arrange. Your date "sees your story" but can't even reply to a text? Time for you should be created and prioritized!
Your Valentine's Day suggestion: "Do you want to meet, have dinner?"
Reply: "Maybe, I'll see if I have time."
    No. Flush.

  4. You feel more like crap than good
After dates, you're mostly confused, anxious, and insecure: "What does this person really want? Where do we stand? Why does my stomach feel like the toilet in a crowded office after lunch?" The relationship shouldn't feel like the stomach flu. Nor like an upset stomach whose cause you can't figure out.
    Flush.

  5. Disrespectful in the small things
Late cancellations, "accidentally" forgetting things that are important to you, blaming a bad memory but actually just not listening, doing shady things online, dismissing your boundaries or joking about it when you get hurt. If someone treats you like crap, then it's probably your date who is, well, crap. Flush it, baby, flush it down the toilet.

When to WIPE IT 🧻

There's potential here – but something's off. It's not a disaster, but it's not 100% either. Is your date a walking red flag, or is it just a lack of experience and communication? Time for a "talk + evaluation".

  1. Your date is kind – but passive
You know the person likes you, you have a good vibe, but all initiative comes from you. It's more "I'm going with the flow" than "I want this with you". Wipe it = have an honest talk: "I need more effort, otherwise it won't work for me." Then you evaluate. How does the person receive your concerns? Is there any change?

  2. Communication breakdown light
Your date isn't mean, just conflict-averse and unclear. Replies late, but apologizes, might be a bit bad at expressing feelings, but tries when you bring it up. Wipe it: see if you can talk like adults instead of just emojis.

  3. Small ego-moves
A little too much focus on themselves, their problems, their calendar, their job. You get some space, but not always. Wipe it: set a boundary, say what you need, see if the person actually adjusts their behavior or if it's just empty words.

  4. Uneven engagement
Sometimes your date is super enthusiastic, sometimes half-engaged, and sometimes silent... But when you point it out, they accept it and you feel understood. Wipe it: give it another period – like until after Valentine's Day – with clear dealbreakers.

  5. Different speed, same intention
You might want to define the relationship yesterday, your date is more "can we take it easy?", but you fundamentally want the same thing: to see where it can lead, with respect and honesty. Wipe it: adjust the pace, feel it out, don't rush – but don't accept endless rambling. If you've been seeing each other for a long time, acting like you're in a relationship and your date doesn't want to define it... then your fingers start itching to press the flush button...

When to KEEP IT ❤️

Here we're talking about a keeper – a real sweetie who's not only good at cuddling but also knows how to behave.

  1. Your date plans something (effort counts, not price)
It's not about a fancy restaurant, but that your date actually thought: "How can I make you feel appreciated?" Is it something you've talked about that your date knows you like? It could be a home-cooked meal, a walk, pick-and-mix sweets and a movie. The intention and thought behind it = gold. Keep.

  2. You feel safe, not confused
You don't have to interpret every text message as if it were state secrets. You generally know where you stand, what your date wants, and that you can ask questions without being called a "drama queen." Keep.

  3. Your date shows up – even when it's not glamorous
Period, upset stomach, bad hair day (never happens to you, though, you're flawless), tears, stress – and the person stays, brings snacks, asks how you are, stays. This is more premium than any bouquet of roses. Keep.

  4. Respect for your boundaries
You say "that doesn't feel right" and the person: listens, adjusts, takes responsibility. No gaslighting, no "you're overreacting." And remembers what you've said makes you uncomfortable.
    Top-notch toilet behavior. Keep.

  5. Your date is engaged in your life
Asks questions, remembers small things, cheers on your dreams, integrates you into their life (friends, family, future plans). You feel like a part of their world – not just a pastime between meetings. Keep.

  6. You genuinely feel better having the person in your life
You laugh more, feel calmer, have less anxiety. A relationship should feel like soft, fluffy, well-thought-out paper – not like thin sandpaper from a cheap public toilet. Keep.
