Back to our roots – for us, it's more than just an expression. doodop grew out of a longing for something genuine, where every detail means something and nothing is left to chance.
Our founder, Helene, has always been keen to create something that feels real, right down to the very root of doodop. A company to be proud of. Finding the right products with the right values took a long time. A really long time, in fact. With strong values concerning sustainability, honesty, quality, and respect for both people and materials, it's not easy. Especially not as a small, newly established company that many don't see as something worth spending time on. It's never fun to be rejected or ignored, but that was actually the daily reality for two whole years as doodop was growing.
Ironically, the answer was closer than we thought. After years of searching, we found the right fit, just a stone's throw from where our founder herself grew up. Sometimes the best isn't what's farthest away, but what has always been there – right in front of our eyes.
For us, this is more than a nice story. It's proof that authenticity begins where you stand, with your own roots, your memories, and your values. When we say we're going back to our roots, we mean it. We have literally returned to our hometown to find the foundation for doodop. Talk about going back to the very root of the root.
It's not just authenticity that matters. This is also one of the most important aspects of the company: sustainability.
By producing locally, using materials and resources available in our local area, we can help nature recover. A topic that receives less attention in today's society but becomes more critical every day.
For us, it's important that we produce products that are good through and through. We have invested extreme amounts of time and resources to make it easy for you to make a good and sustainable choice. Right down to the root of our products.
That's where we draw our strength from: from the down-to-earth, the local, and the genuine. And every time you choose doodop, you also choose a piece of that journey – from childhood neighborhoods to the products of the future.
